Salary: $15.00 /hour
Under the general supervision of the Assistant Facilities Manager, perform a variety of maintenance duties including plumbing, electrical, masonry, carpentry and other building maintenance repairs and remodeling.
Hours: actual hours negotiable between 10:00 AM – 11:00 PM, Monday through Friday, 8-10 hours/day. Rotating on-call weekends and nights at time and a half.
Basic understanding of carpentry, electrical, plumbing and HVAC preferred.
Valid drivers license required.
Pre-employment drug screen required.
Background check required.
Ability to use power and hand tools, operate a variety of equipment and fulfill the physical demands of the job.
Ability to lift, push, pull up tp 50 pounds.
Sensory ability (seeing, hearing).
Ability to meet cognitive demands of the job including problem solving, communication (oral and written), and maintaining accurate records and reports.
Must be a self-starter and be able to work with little or no direct supervision.
Duties and responsibilities of the job:
These are not to be construed as exclusive or all inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned.
Maintains and makes operating repairs to all plumbing and mechanical equipment, including air handling units, furnace units, hot water heaters, floor care equipment, fans, vents water softners, resident lifts, wheelchairs, hospital beds, hydraulic bathtubs, ice machines, etc.
Replace bulbs and ballasts in light fixtures.
Responsible for maintenance inventory for the department using computer equipment.
Perform carpentry and painting work.
Perform maintenance and repairs on commercial kitchen equipment, including coolers, freezers, dishwashers, and laundry equipment.
Tests fire and smoke alarm systems and security systems.
Performs miscellaneous ground care and operates and maintains forklift and other vehicles.
Assists in snow removal.
Performs miscellaneous exterior maintenance to buildings and repairs cleaning equipment, as necessary.
Performs installation and revised application of ceiling fans and additional lighting.
Assembles, disassembles, transports and installs miscellaneous equipment such as desks, tables, copy machines, resident equipment, resident furniture and other items.
Performs preventative maintenance and in house generated work orders.
Responsible for various welding projects.
Pager is assigned to meet department needs. Work assigned hours or days to meet department needs.
Assists with contact with outside vendors.
Performs other duties as assigned, including responding to an emergency event.
